Tri-Continental Celebrates 75th Anniversary
April 22, 2004

This year marks the 75th Anniversary of Tri-Continental Corporation, which was founded on January 12, 1929.  In honor of the occasion, William C. Morris, Chairman of Tri-Continental Corporation, rang the closing bell at The New York Stock Exchange on February 24, 2004.  Traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol, TY, Tri-Continental Corporation, has earned the status of being one of the oldest, successfully managed closed-end investment companies in North America today.  Click here to review each decade of Tri-Continental’s history.
